S.A.F.E. in the North State
Another Chance Animal Welfare League is partnered with S.A.F.E (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) in the North State and their spay/neuter voucher program.
S.A.F.E. in the North State evolved into a non-profit, all-volunteer public charity in 2010 through the passions, fellowship and collaborative efforts of dedicated individuals committed to reducing pet overpopulation in the North State.
The organization consists of private individuals and humane organizations committed to achieving a community that values the humane care and treatment of animals.
S.A.F.E.’s mission is to foster responsible pet ownership and solve pet overpopulation through collaborative, community based programs, including spay/neuter assistance, humane education and public awareness campaigns. The primary focus of S.A.F.E. is to provide spay/neuter financial assistance to pet owners who cannot afford to sterilize their companion animals due to limited finances combined with limited access to low/no-cost spay/neuter services in far northern California.
S.AF.E.’s vision is to lessen the pet overpopulation problem in the North State to such an extent that no shelter animal has to die simply because of lack of space or homes, and to reverse the universal acceptance of killing as a solution to pet overpopulation in our communities. People who qualify can obtain vouchers from S.A.F.E. directly or from ACAWL.

Another Chance Animal Welfare League is partnered with Petco in Redding, CA in the effort to adopt animals to loving forever homes. Since 1999, the Petco Foundation has invested more than $135 million in lifesaving animal welfare work across the country. Today, Petco is partnered with more than 8,000 animal welfare partners and are helping to make a difference in the lives of animals by funding adoption programs, spay/neuter services, pet cancer research, service and therapy animals, and numerous other lifesaving initiatives. Through Petco’s adoption efforts and partnership with their animal welfare partners in more than 1400 Petco stores nationwide, the Petco Foundation helps find homes for more than 420,000 animals each year.
ACAWL is fortunate to be able to have our cats occupy their store cages to showcase some of our great adoptable cats. We rotate the cats we have there every few weeks in order to give those at Petco a break to play at our Sanctuary and give others a chance to show off their cute selves in hopes of capturing the heart of someone to become their forever home.
Another Chance Volunteers are at Petco every Saturday from 11am – 2pm to answer questions about our animals and provide adoption applications to potential adopters. Hope to see you there!
